The right amount of solder
Soldering on Chip condenser has a difficulty with Shape B or D. Ideal fillet can be formed with Shape C and BC.
Standard : The amount exhibiting a concave profile against the line from the land pad edge to lead edge. Upper limit : Fillet formed against the straight line from the land pad edge to lead edge. Lower limit : Fillet formed to reach the height of more than half of the chip. |
Use Shape BC/C
This type has a shape like a cone or column cut at a slant, which allows users to select the cut surface size depending on the workpiece. It is used for drag soldering and pre-tinning of lead wires.
Put the cut surface to the land and drag the tip slowly while feeding solder. |
Use Shape B
This shape is all-round type which can be used from any direction and is easy to hold at any position. It offers other recommended usages.
Put the tip to the land and drag the tip slowly while feeding solder. |
