Soldering Pot Maintenance Method TOP
Case 1 | Indicated temperatures are lower. Solder is not melted. |
Case 2 | Even if the power switch is set to ON, the unit does not operate. |
Case 1-a: Indicated temperatures are lower. Solder is not melted.
Check the following points at first.
Is the parameter set correctly?
In the HAKKO FX-301, the following 4 parameter settings can be performed.
Is the offset value input correctly?
Adjust the offset values based on the procedure in Method for setting correct temperature.
If after checking the above items, the indicated temperature is still
lower or solder is not melted, the following two causes are assumed:In the HAKKO FX-301, the following 4 parameter settings can be performed.
- Selection of temperature display °C or °F.
-
Solder type setting
Ex.: Sn-Pb (Tin and Lead), Sn-Ag-Cu (Tin, Silver and Copper), etc. -
Setting according to size of solder pot
50-square and 75-square solder pots are available.
Set according to size of solder pot -
Method to multiply timer
- Set the timer to “999” (9990 hours) while referring to the instruction manual.
- If the solder pot is perforated and it is now time to replace, press “*” to check the accumulated time.
- Replace the current solder pot with a new one.
- Set the next replacement time as predicted from the accumulated time with a timer.
- If the unit has been used up for the designated time, the product will inform you that the solder pot replacement time has been reached by (1) sounding an alarm, (2) decreasing the temperature and (3) turning off the power.
Is the offset value input correctly?
Adjust the offset values based on the procedure in Method for setting correct temperature.
Correct temperature setting method (offset value)
Cause1 : The solder pot is not firmly fixed in position.
Unless the solder pot is firmly fixed, the heating element is not fully heated. Check that the screws on the both sides of the pot are fully tightened.
Cause2 : It is possible that the heating element is broken or deteriorated.
The heating element gradually deteriorates and becomes broken with use.
If the heating element is broken or deteriorated
Replace the heating element with a new one. |
Replacement method: | Refer to the instruction manual included with the heating element. (Replacement can be performed without soldering.)
Necessary tools: | Crosspoint screwdriver
If the heating element is not broken
Send the unit to the place of purchase for repair. |
